Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a ghost tour?
No. This is a historical tour, not a paranormal or haunted-house experience. Guests will discover unusual stories, centuries-old graves and monuments, and people and events connected to Pittsburgh’s history.
Is there any spooky-season fun?
Yes! The history is real, but October deserves a little atmosphere. Expect a scavenger-style hunt, seasonal treats, and special Dusk Tours as daylight fades.
What if it rains?
Tours take place rain or shine. For light rain, bring an umbrella or raincoat. During severe weather, the guided program will move inside Trinity Cathedral, with an opportunity to explore the churchyard independently when conditions allow.
Is the tour accessible without stairs?
Yes. Step-free access to the churchyard is available through the Oliver Avenue entrance. Email office@trinitypittsburgh.org with your tour date and time so we can assist you. Please note that the historic churchyard includes uneven ground and interspersed stone walkways.
Are children welcome?
Yes. There are no staged scares or haunted-house elements. However, the experience is primarily a historical tour designed for a general audience, so some younger children may find the storytelling less engaging.
