Visiting the Episcopal Cathedral in Downtown Pittsburgh
When you attend an Episcopal service, here is what you can expect.
Our service is:
• Traditional liturgy
• Centered on music, prayer, Scripture, and reflection
• Reverent and accessible
• Approximately 60 to 75 minutes
During the service, you may see people standing, sitting, or kneeling at different moments. Some sing along. Some listen quietly. Some walk to the front for Holy Communion. Others remain in their seat.
Participation is always optional. You are welcome to follow along in the bulletin or simply take it in at your own pace.
When visiting for the first time, many people choose the 10:30 am Sunday service.
People wear everything from jeans to dresses or suits. Wear what feels comfortable to you.
Children are welcome. You will see families, individuals, couples, and people attending on their own. We love to see and hear children during worship.
